Sheppey College

Sheppey College, part of the East Kent College (EKC) Group, is a further education provider situated on the Isle of Sheppey. Currently a significant proportion of students travel to Sittingbourne or neighbouring towns to access education opportunities currently unavailable to them.

Proposed

The extension to the college will allow for  increased educational opportunities for young people living within Swale, both on and off the island. This includes a broadened curriculum offer matched to local employment opportunities. The additional space will also provide community learning  possibilities, including adult education to improve literacy, numeracy and digital skills.

Progress

East Kent College have worked with their design team to create plans for the new extension. Two consultation events have been held to show case the designs to residents and local councillors, allowing for feedback opportunities on the proposed plans. Both events were a success and the planning application has now been submitted to the local planning team.
