About Sheerness Revival

In January 2023, Swale Borough Council was awarded £20 million from the government’s fund to deliver the Sheerness Revival project on the Isle of Sheppey.

The application process for the fund was highly competitive with bids needing to progress through several different stages to be successful.

Swale’s bid included three projects which would deliver visible change to Sheerness town centre. These are the regeneration of Beachfields, an extension to Sheppey College and the conversion of garage space at Masters House to creative workshop space.

Swale Borough Council officers worked with local organisations and residents to build the bid, ensuring that the government’s requirements were met as well as local need and aspiration.
